After four days of hard working, the athletes deserved a day of rest. Time to recover and of course discover the road. The full Zandvoorde staff worked all night long to prepare the roadcircuit.
Time for a small recap : Italy still the leading country. With 34 medals almost on track to achieve the same level of 2008. Germany (girls/ladies) and Belgium (boys/men) competing for the second place in the medal table. Rather a disappointing verdict for the French connection. Of course the withdrawals of Guyader and Pelloquin could be used as an excuse... but one gold ? We also enjoyed some performances of the Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese teams. Switserland, Austria closing the gap with the leading countries.
We'll enjoy the day of rest to cover the roadraces as from Tuesday.
In the mean time have a look at the videos from yesterday's finals.
